Morgan Stanley HBCU Scholar
I was awarded a four-year, full-ride merit scholarship to Spelman College by Morgan Stanley for demonstrating a "quintessentially Spelman essence of intellectual curiosity" as a high school student. The Morgan Stanley HBCU Scholars Program has always meant more to me than just a full ride. From the moment I received the scholarship as a high school senior, it became clear that I wasn’t just gaining financial support—I was being welcomed into an endlessly empowering community of mentors, role models, cheerleaders, and peers who continue to inspire and uplift me.
Spelman College Research Day Winner
During the spring semester of my junior year I proudly participated in Spelman College’s Research Day and won 1st place in the English Department for my work! My research project, “Ink and Identity” explored the evolving relationship between culture workers and Essence Magazine, examining how the publication is adapting its social media strategy to balance journalistic standards with audience-driven content.
